How does the booking work?
Booking a tandem flight with us is very simple â it happens in 3 steps:
STEP 1 â Our answers to the most frequently asked questions from our clients
â ïžâ ïž Important Information â Summer 2025 â ïžâ ïž
After 20 wonderful years in our ideally located shop in « Le Marcelly » building, right across from the Mont-ChĂ©ry gondola, weâve had to give up our spot.
While we work on finding a new place to welcome you, weâll be handling all bookings remotely for summer 2025.
đ To make up for this small logistical inconvenience, weâve decided not to increase our prices this season,
and weâre offering free photos and videos to all our passengers who have a Multipass!
Thank you for your trust, and see you very soon in the air âš
How does a flight work? đȘâ°ïžđŻ
After the usual introductions, weâll head up together to the takeoff areaâeither by ski lifts or with our 4×4 vehicle if the lifts are closed.
The ride up takes about 25 minutes, and weâll arrive at the Mont ChĂ©ry takeoff site:
a beautiful, gently sloping meadow facing Mont Blancâperfect for a smooth and easy launch.
Once there:
Weâll prepare the glider
Youâll be fitted with a comfortable harness and a helmet
Youâll receive a few simple and reassuring instructions
This isnât skydivingâwe donât jump.
We walk, then run a few steps down the slope, and the wing naturally lifts us into the air.
Itâs really nothing complicated, especially when thereâs a light headwind helping us out.
And if the glider doesnât inflate properly on the first try? No worriesâwe just reset it and try again calmly.
Once airborne, your instructor will explain how to settle comfortably and enjoy the flight to the fullest.
The harness is like a cozy little seatâyouâll see, itâs far more relaxing than you might expect!
Then comes your time to enjoy a moment suspended in the air, far from everything.
Youâll experience an incredible sense of freedom, carried by the wind, with a unique view of the mountains.
Depending on the flight you choose, we may extend the journey, riding thermal updraftsâthose warm air currents that allow us to gain altitude.
Every flight is unique, tailored to your preferences and the dayâs conditions.
At the end of the flight, we usually fly over the village of Les Gets for a beautiful finish.
If thereâs a specific place youâd like to fly over, let your instructor knowâif itâs safe, theyâll be happy to make it happen.
We fly for you, to make this moment truly unforgettable.
As for the landingânothing tricky!
Just before touching the ground, weâll stand up, and land smoothly on our feet.
Plan for about 1 to 1.5 hours for the entire experience, depending on the type of flight you choose.
Who can fly? đ§đ§âđŠłđȘ
Paragliding is accessible to everyone from the age of 5. However, some of our flights are designed for specific types of passengers:
The âKidâ flight is reserved for children under 12 years old.
The âĂvasionâ flights have a maximum weight limit of 80 kg.
The âClassicâ and âClassic +â flights are limited to 90 kg.
These weight limits, although below the maximum tolerance of our wings, help ensure optimal safety during takeoff and landing phases.
No medical certificate is required to fly. However, some medical conditions may not be compatible with paragliding (recent surgery, untreated sprain, prosthesis, etc.).
đ Please inform us of any relevant medical details when booking.
Â
Is it safe? â
đĄïžđȘ
Yesâtandem paragliding is a highly supervised and safe activity.
All of our flights are carried out by certified State instructors, with extensive experience flying in the mountains and understanding the local terrain and weather conditions.
Pierre-Yves and JoĂ«l, your two main pilots, each have over 35 years of flying experience, and more than 20 years of teaching and tandem flight practice. In other wordsâyouâre in exceptionally good hands!
In a tandem flight, the pilot and passenger are fully connected: they take off together and land together.
Our pilots never take risksâneither for themselves nor for you. Their top priorities are your safety, comfort, and enjoyment.
All equipment is inspected regularly and maintained to strict standards.
Each passenger is equipped with a comfortable harness, a helmet, and a reserve parachute (there for precautionâbut never used).
And of course, flights only take place when the weather conditions are right. If thereâs any doubt, the flight is postponed or cancelled.
With us, safety isnât an optionâitâs a foundation.
How far in advance should I book? đ
âł
đš Bookings are mandatory. Without a reservation, itâs very rare that we have last-minute availability.
Each flight is scheduled in advance based on a detailed planning system, weather conditions, and the availability of our two instructors.
We highly recommend booking as early as possible, especially during peak season (July/August) and on weekends.
đ This gives you more flexibility with time slots and increases your chances of flying in the best weather conditions.
đĄ Paragliding is highly weather-dependent. By booking at the beginning of your stay (ideally on Sunday or Monday), youâll have more flexibility to reschedule your flight if the weather isnât cooperating.
đ Good to know: Most vacationers book from Saturday to Saturday. As a result, we see a peak in activity between Wednesday and Friday.
Youâre always welcome to contact us and try your luck for a last-minute spot â but availability is usually very limited.
Whatâs included in the price? đ¶đđž
Whatâs included in the price?
The price of your flight is all taxes included (VAT) and covers:
The selected flight option

â ïž Important: The ride to the top of Mont ChĂ©ry via the gondola is not included.
You must either:
Arrive with a valid lift pass (single ride or Multipass),
Or pay a âŹ8 supplement directly to your instructor, who will take you up using a points card.
đ A âŹ10 supplement also applies when the lifts are closed and the ascent is done with a 4Ă4 vehicle (before 9:30 AM or after 4:30 PM).
The price does not include the following optional extras, available before takeoff:
đž Photo/video package (+âŹ20)
đą Thrill ride option (+âŹ10)
What are your qualifications and insurance? đšââïžđâ
đĄïž
đšâđ« JoĂ«l and Pierre-Yves are both certified state-qualified instructors:
They hold the BEES 1st Degree in Paragliding, a French State diploma now officially recognized as equivalent to the DEJEPS (State Diploma in Youth, Popular Education and Sport).
This qualification allows them to legally and professionally operate as tandem paragliding instructors.
đ«đ· A demanding training program:
In France, the training required to become a paragliding instructor is one of the most thorough in the world:
âïž Nearly 2 years of training
âïž Courses in theory, teaching methods, and practical placements
âïž Continuous real-world evaluations
âïž Only instructors with a State diploma are allowed to fly passengers for payment, which is a key requirement for our professional insurance to be valid.
đȘȘ Up-to-date professional license:
Joël and Pierre-Yves both have an active professional license, renewed every 5 years through a mandatory refresher course.
This ensures they are always up to date with the latest technical and regulatory developments in the profession.
đĄïž Professional Liability Insurance:
All our activities are covered by specialized insurance for free flight, including all tandem passengers.
It covers any damage that may occur to third parties during the flight.
đ Safety and equipment:
All flights are carried out using certified equipment
A thorough weather analysis is done every day
And we strictly follow French aviation regulations
How and when should I pay for my flight? (IMPORTANT: No credit card payments!) đ”đđ«đł
Payment is made after the flight, directly at the landing zone.
Please plan your payment method in advance, as your instructor often has another flight scheduled right after and wonât have time to wait.
â Accepted payment methods:
Check (French bank)
Cash
Instant bank transfer (e.g., via Wero)
đ« Not accepted:
Credit or debit cards (we operate outdoors and donât use a payment terminal)
ANCV holiday vouchers
Thanks for your understanding đ
What happens if my flight is shorter than the guaranteed duration? âł âïž âïž
Two of our tandem flight options include a guaranteed airtime:
đȘ CLASSIC+ Flight: 20 minutes guaranteed in the air
đȘ EVASION Flight: 40 minutes guaranteed in the air
Our pilots will do everything possible to meet this flight time.
However, keep in mind that paragliders have no engine, and flight duration depends entirely on thermal updrafts, which are natural and sometimes unpredictable or absent.
So despite our expertise, it may happen that the flight is shortened due to insufficient lift.
In that case, you will only be charged for the actual flight time, based on the following durations:
Actual flight time | Price charged |
---|---|
Less than 20 minutes |   CLASSIC Flight rate (âŹ90) |
Between 20 and 40 minutes |   CLASSIC+ Flight rate (âŹ110) |
40 minutes or more |   EVASION Flight rate (âŹ160) |
â ïž Please note:
If the flight is shortened at the passengerâs request (due to discomfort, stress, motion sickness, or any reason not related to flight conditions), the full price of the booked flight will still be charged, regardless of duration.
đŻ Transparency, safety, and mutual respect are at the heart of our values. We always do our best to provide a unique and tailored experience for each passenger.
I weigh more than 90 kg â can I fly?đȘ âïž
Our tandem wings are certified for a total load of up to 220 kg. This includes the pilot, the passenger, and all flying equipment.
Technically, we could take passengers weighing up to 115 kg.
But in practice, we set the limit at 90 kg.
â Why the 90 kg limit?
âĄïž To maintain a comfortable safety margin
âĄïž Because the passengerâs active participation is crucial during take-off and landing
A passenger heavier than the pilot is more difficult to guide or correct if they react improperly.
As pilots weighing around 75 kg, we physically donât have the strength to safely manage a poorly executed take-off or landing with a much heavier passenger.
This can compromise the safety of the tandem team.
đ€ïž What if I weigh between 90 and 100 kg?
In certain situations, when the weather and wind conditions are favorable, we may accept a slightly heavier passenger.
But this must be arranged in advance.
We remain open to discussion and assess each situation individually, depending on:
the exact weight
the forecasted wind
the take-off site
the equipment used
â ïž Please be honest about your actual weight
It is essential to inform us of the passenger’s real weight when booking.
đŻ This allows us to choose the right time slot, pilot, and equipment.
â Weâve had situations in the past where a passenger knowingly underestimated their weight, and we only found out at take-off.
This is uncomfortable, frustrating, and sometimes dangerous.
Weâd rather say ânoâ in advance than have to deal with a risky situation in the field.
đ Thank you for your understanding, your trust,
and above all â your honesty!
đ Have any doubts? Contact us â we’re happy to talk things through calmly.
What happens if the weather is bad? đ§ïž
Weather uncertainty is part of the sport â it comes with the territory in paragliding.
Knowing when to postpone or cancel is essential to ensure a safe and enjoyable flight.
If we believe the conditions arenât right to fly safely, weâll reschedule your flight for another time that works for both you and us, depending on availability.
Thereâs no pressure â your safety always comes first, and sometimes the best decision is to wait for the perfect window.
Whatâs considered good weather for paragliding? âïžđ€ïžđŹïž
Contrary to popular belief, a big blue sky and blazing sunshine donât automatically make for perfect flying conditions!
To paraglide, we need rising air currents, known as thermals.
Theyâre often created by the sun heating the ground, but thatâs not the whole story:
đŹ We also need calm, well-oriented winds.
Too much wind can not only stop us from going where we want, but also prevent nice thermals from formingâand make longer flights tricky or even unsafe.
đ Terrain shape, air temperature, humidity, and atmospheric stability also play a big role.
If you spot fluffy little clouds (cumulus) scattered around the sky, thatâs usually a great signâthey indicate the presence of healthy thermals!
â
Mornings and late afternoons tend to be calmerâperfect for smooth, relaxed flights.
More dynamic or longer flights usually happen midday, when thermals are stronger and more active.
â If the wind is too strong or the weather is unstable (rain, stormsâŠ), we postpone the flight.
Your safety is always our top priority.
đĄ Booking early in your stay gives you more flexibility to reschedule if the weather isnât ideal on your chosen day.
đšâđ« And if you’re curious, your instructor will happily explain the local weather in more detailâtheyâre real enthusiasts when it comes to mountain meteorology!
Can we fly if there are clouds? âïžđȘđ
Many passengers hesitate to come when the sky looks grey or cloudy⊠but if we havenât contacted you to cancel, it means the conditions are still good for flying.
In fact, flying on a cloudy day can be absolutely magical âš
You might find yourself gliding between the clouds, soaring above a soft, mysterious landscape…
It often feels even more dreamlike and timeless than a flight in full sunshine.
âïž But just to be clear: we never fly inside the clouds.
Itâs prohibited for safety and visibility reasons, and we strictly follow all aviation regulations.
đ If you ever have doubts about the weather, just give us a call â weâd much rather talk things through calmly with you than see you cancel at the last minute đ
Let us know if you’d like a shorter version of this for a WhatsApp message or social media!
How should I dress for a paragliding flight? đ§„đ
Paragliding takes place in the mountains, and our takeoff point is about 600 meters higher than Les Gets.
đ On average, we lose 1°C every 100 meters of altitude â so thatâs around 6°C colder up there…
And that doesnât include the wind chill in the air, or the extra altitude we often gain during thermal flights.
đĄ Bottom line: Better to be too warm than too cold!
â Our clothing tips:
đ Wear comfortable long pants
Avoid shorts â youâll be more comfortable and protected with full-length pants.
đ Closed shoes with good grip
No need for high boots, but choose shoes with solid soles and good traction, like trail runners or hiking shoes.
𧄠A zip-up jacket
This is ideal â you can take off with it open, and zip it up in the air if it gets chilly. Youâll be glad you brought an extra layer!
đ Too many layers? No problem.
If you’re too warm, you can tuck excess clothing into the special pockets in the harness designed for that purpose.
đ« Important: We do not provide clothing, so please make sure youâre properly dressed before your flight.
đ¶ïž Useful extras: Sunglasses (or prescription glasses).
đ No worries â you wonât lose them, even with the Adrenaline option! đ
Where do takeoff and landing take place? đșïž
All our tandem flights take off from an absolutely exceptional site:
đïž The summit of Mont ChĂ©ry, located at 1,800 meters of altitude, about 600 meters above the Les Gets valley.
This takeoff site offers a spectacular view of the Mont Blanc range, and has multiple launch zones facing different directions, allowing us to adapt to wind and weather conditions â which means cancellations are very rare.
đ Access to the summit is either:
â by ski lift (when in service)
â or by 4×4 on a reserved track (authorized access only)
đŹ Main landing:
Our usual landing spot is the large open field at the entrance of Les Gets, on the Morzine side.
đŹïž Alternative landing (rare):
In very specific wind conditions that make the main field too turbulent, we may use a safer backup landing: the lower part of the Boule de Gomme ski slope.
This is an exceptional setup, but it ensures maximum safety in all conditions.
Do you offer discounts? đž
Yes, we do â under certain conditions:
â âŹ5 off per person for groups of 4 to 6 people, outside the peak high season.
â For groups of 7 or more, we offer custom group rates, tailored to the time of year and the type of flights booked.
â Multipass holders enjoy free lift access and a free photo & video package!
To benefit from these offers, just get in touch with us in advance when booking â weâll be happy to make you a personalized offer đ
Where do we meet ? đđ
The meeting point is at the Mont Chéry ski lift station, at the agreed time.
â° Please arrive a few minutes early so we donât keep the group waiting.
You can wait at the bottom of the stairs â weâre easy to spot with our big paragliding backpacks!
đ Timing
Weâre usually on time, but small delays can happen.
If so, weâll let you know as soon as possible.
đ Important to know
If you plan to buy your lift ticket (single ride or Multipass) yourself, please do it before the meeting time to avoid delays at departure.

What happens if I get scared in the air? đŹđȘ
Itâs a question we hear a lot â and itâs completely normal!
Many passengers feel a bit of anxiety before flying, especially if itâs their first time. But donât worry â nothing is set in stone, and your instructor will adapt to you, your pace, and your comfort level.
â Your instructor has nothing to prove â their only goal is to give you the experience you came for:
a peaceful and contemplative moment, a sense of freedom, or a bit more excitement if you ask for it.
đĄ When you see paragliders doing sharp turns or spirals in the sky, know this:
itâs always at the passengerâs request, never forced by the pilot.
Paragliding is a gentle, progressive, and quiet experience.
And if you ever feel uncomfortable â no problem!
We can adjust immediately: everything is under control, and youâre in direct communication with your instructor from takeoff to landing.
What if I feel sick during the flight? đ€ąđȘ
Air sickness â also known as motion sickness â can affect some sensitive passengers, just like seasickness or car sickness. Itâs rare, but we prefer to mention it so we can better support you if needed.
đĄ If youâre prone to motion sickness (in cars, on boats, or even on rides), we recommend choosing a shorter, calmer flight, like the Vol CLASSIC.
This type of flight is generally well-tolerated: itâs more direct, with fewer turns, and lets you enjoy the experience without discomfort.
đ« Longer flights (like the CLASSIC+ or EVASION) use thermal lift to stay in the air longer. Thatâs great for adventureâbut it can also lead to stronger sensations, which might not suit everyone.
â
Whatever you choose, your instructor is fully attentive and can adapt the trajectory and style of flight to your comfort.
And if you start feeling unwell in the air, no stress â we can shorten the flight and land smoothly.
đ Our advice: Let us know when booking or during the pre-flight briefing if you tend to get motion sick. That way, we can offer the best option for you, with total peace of mind.
Can I bring my own action cam for the flight? đ„đȘ
Technically, yes â you’re allowed to bring your own action cam, but itâs entirely at your own risk.
That said⊠to be totally honest, we donât really recommend it.
This flight is likely a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and spending it fiddling with buttons or trying to get the perfect shot often means missing the magic of the moment.
And in the end, personal footage tends to be shaky, poorly framed, or doesnât quite capture the beauty of the flight.
âš Our advice:
Forget about the gear, fully enjoy the ride, and let us handle the memories!
We offer HD photos and videos, filmed by your instructor using a high-end action cam on a telescopic mount â perfectly framed, at the right time and place.
Youâll leave with amazing footage and a big smile đ
What if Iâm disappointed with my flight? đ
Discovering free flight is usually an extraordinary experience, often well beyond expectations.
That said, by its very nature, paragliding relies on thermal currents to move and extend the flight â and that means we canât guarantee the same flight duration or altitude for everyone, every time.
Even within the same group, two passengers can have very different experiences, depending on the conditions during each flight: altitude, flight path, duration⊠Itâs all part of the adventure.
đ This can sometimes cause a bit of frustration â for example, if you feel your flight was « less impressive » than someone elseâs. We totally understand that feeling, but itâs an inherent part of paragliding. Nature makes the rules up there.
đŻ For us, the key word is: communication.
If something didnât feel right, or if you’re left with doubts or disappointment â tell us as soon as possible. Weâre here for you, and weâll always take the time to listen and try to make things better.
Our mission is to see you leave with stars in your eyes âš
And if anything gets in the way of that, weâll always look for a solution to ensure you go home with amazing memories.
What if I had an amazing time? đâš
Thatâs exactly our goal! đ
Now more than ever, your feedback means the world to us.
If you enjoyed your experience, donât hesitate to spread the word!
A quick review on Google or Tripadvisor, along with your smile, is truly one of the best thank-yous you can give us đ
It helps others feel confident to take the leap, and it keeps our passion flying high.
So thank you â for your trust, your good vibes, and maybe… for your next flight? đđȘ
I have another question for youâ
Oops⊠we thought we had covered everything! đ
No worries â just send us your question on WhatsApp or give us a call. Weâll almost certainly have the answer!
And who knows? đ Your question might even end up in this FAQ to help future passengers đ
đ By phone: +33 6 69 18 45 04
đŹ On WhatsApp
đ§ By email: info@lesgets-parapente.com
Step 3: Letâs keep in touch!
You can reach out to us at any time if you have any questions.
đą In bad weather, we’re very responsive and usually reply quickly to your messages.
đ In good weather, we might be flying or moving around on the field.
But no worries! Thanks to the Les Gets ski lifts, we regularly get 10 to 15 minutes of free time every hour during chairlift rides â the perfect moment to check your messages and adjust our schedule. đ
